  • Membership Committee Member

Members of this committee will be involved with recruiting new members to the Society as well as maintaining necessary connection with current members.  This committee will work with OSUAA, the other committees, and the Board to develop and accomplish specific membership goals.  In addition, this committee will develop at least one membership event per year. Examples include the annual HRSAS ‘Reunion Weekend’ and basketball or hockey event. Committee members should be present at events to answer member benefit questions.

Commitment = committee coverage at all HRSAS events throughout the year.  Plus, approx. 1-2 hours/ month for recruitment activities outside of events.  Virtual participation is also welcome.

  • Young Alumni Committee Member

Members of this committee will be involved with developing activities targeted to three (3) specific groups: (1) current students, (2) rising graduates, and (3) young alumni.   This committee should connect with Student-Alumni Council and OSUAA’s Young Alumni Academy.  Examples of activities could be Trivia Nights, Dinner for 12 Buckeyes, and other various Networking events.  This committee should also create student focused events such as Student Recruitment for HRS, Student Welcome Event, and a Graduating Senior Event.

Commitment = Committee coverage at YA events.  Plus, approx. 1-2 hours/month outside scheduled events.

  • Diversity Committee Member

Members of this committee will work towards cultivating and executing ideas for diversity targeted events and inclusion.  Examples of potential events include Guys Night Out with Axe Throwing, New Mom’s Crockpot Cooking Class, or Yoga for Alumni > 50.

Commitment = Committee coverage Diversity events. Plus, approx. 1-2 hours/month outside scheduled events.

  • Division Liaison Committee Member

Members of this committee will work in conjunction with the individual HRS divisions to ensure communication to and from alumni and students.  These members will work closely with the Communications Committee and the Young Alumni Committee.  This committee will also guide the HRS Alumni Society Scholarship Fund initiatives and lead the Scholarship application and selection process.

Commitment = expected to be various throughout the year, but approximately 3-4 hours per month.

  • Communications Committee Member

Members of this committee will be involved with all communications to our Alumni through various media. Members will work closely with the HRS Director of Communications.  Committee members can select one of multiple options and each option will have a Chair, leading initiatives of the subcommittee:

  1. Social Media
  2. Website
  3. Newsletter

Commitment = expected to be 1-2 hours per month, perhaps more around and during specific events.  Communication will generally be accomplished through email or on-line forums and physical presence is not a necessary element to be successful in this role.  Virtual participation is also welcome.
